The Afro-Brit Pre-University Summer School is a transformative three-day academic and leadership programme designed to prepare high school students and recent secondary school graduates for a successful transition to university and beyond.
As thousands of young people enter university each year without adequate preparation for academic life, career planning, leadership development, and the future world of work, the Afro-Brit Pre-University Summer School provides a unique platform that bridges this critical gap.
Inspired by internationally recognised pre-university programmes offered by leading institutions across the United Kingdom and beyond, the programme equips students with the knowledge, skills, mindset, and confidence required to thrive in higher education, compete globally, and contribute meaningfully to society.

All participants are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of 5,000 XAF to secure their place in the programme.

The Pre-University Summer School is designed to prepare students for university life through engaging academic sessions, practical workshops, leadership development, and mentorship. Participants will gain the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to make informed decisions about their future while building lasting friendships with peers from diverse backgrounds.
Choosing the right preparation programme can significantly influence your child’s transition to higher education. Our programme equips students with academic readiness, personal confidence, and practical life skills, helping them make informed university choices and prepare for future success.
The programme is open to:
No. Accommodation is not provided by Afro-Brit CID. However, the Afro-Brit team will provide participants with information on recommended hotels, guest houses, hostels, and other lodging facilities within the host city to assist them in making suitable accommodation arrangements.
The programme fees cover only the package selected by the participant.
Yes. All participants who successfully complete the programme will receive an Afro-Brit
CID Pre-University Summer School Certificate of Participation at the closing ceremony.
Yes. Participants are welcome to attend any Summer School location regardless of their city
or region of residence. Please note that participants are responsible for their own
transportation and accommodation costs.
Payment details will be shared upon successful application. Payments can be made through
designated Mobile Money, Orange Money, bank transfer, or other approved payment
methods. Participants will be required to upload proof of payment during registration.
Currently, there are no scholarships or sponsorship opportunities available for the
programme. However, Afro-Brit CID is actively exploring partnerships that may allow
financial support opportunities to be introduced in future editions of the Summer School.
Meals are not automatically included in the programme fees. To simplify arrangements and
ensure participants are adequately catered for during the three days, Afro-Brit CID offers an
optional meal package covering breakfast and lunch throughout the programme at an
additional cost of 15,000 XAF. Further details will be provided during registration.

Participants especially GOLD participants become part of the growing Afro-Brit Pre-

Yes. One of the major benefits of the programme is the opportunity to interact with fellow

and collaboration beyond the Summer School.
The programme is specifically designed to bridge the gap between High School and
University by helping students understand university expectations, improve study skills,
explore career pathways, develop leadership competencies, build digital literacy, and access
information on scholarships, internships, and global opportunities.

Yes. The Graduation Ceremony is a key highlight of the Afro-Brit Pre-University Summer School and celebrates participants’ successful completion of the programme. The event will be open to parents, guardians, family members, and friends, providing an opportunity to recognise the importance of the programme. During the ceremony, participants will receive their Afro-Brit CID Pre-University Summer School Certificate and be formally welcomed into the Afro-Brit network. Participants who wish to take part in the ceremony will be required to contribute towards the cost of their graduation robe, which is expected to be approximately 10,000 XAF. Additional details regarding robe collection, ceremony arrangements, and guest attendance will be communicated before the event. Participation in the graduation ceremony is optional but highly encouraged.
