Nutrition counselling integrates scientific dietary advice with behavioural change strategies. This course is designed with the greater ambition to positively influence eating habits and dietary habits. It is not just what you eat that matters but how you eat is of equal importance.
This Afro-Brit Certificate course in Nutrition Counselling prepares learners to:

Programme Structure
This very intensive course will include core modules like Principles of Good Nutrition, Nutrition Assessment and Diagnosis, Identifying Dietary Challenges and Setting Goals, Designing Interventions, Monitoring Progress and Evaluating Change, Personalised Nutrition Planning, Ethical and Cultural Considerations in Counselling and Counselling Skills and Case Simulations

By the end of the programme, learners will be able to:
- Counsel clients with diabetes, obesity, cancer, and food allergies.
- Tailor meal plans using dietary histories and cultural contexts.

Eligibility
To be eligible for this certificate programme, applicants must be holders of bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, or equivalent. Candidates with work experience in dietary or community nutrition interventions can also be considered.
Duration and Cost
This Certificate programme in Nutrition Counselling is designed for three (03) months and will cost 150,000FCFA. In addition, students will pay 10,000FCFA for registration.

Given the relevance of this programme, graduates will have the opportunity to function as Nutrition counsellors in hospitals and clinics, Private practice nutrition coaching, Wellness and life coaching centres, School nutrition educators and Community counsellors and NGO field educators.
